Conservation
St Peter | Mid Devon
The Brief
Internal remodelling and general conservation work for a rare slate-cladded Georgian home.
The Solution
Remove the modern partition, flooring and sanitaryware to existing Toilet and amend the layout, allowing the Landing area to communicate with the entrance below, as originally intended. Kitchen to be refurnished and new gas fired boiler fitted. Generally, new light fittings and radiators to match the character of the building.
Conservation work: fumigation and chemical treatment to protect affected timber joists and floorboards from decay, external slate cladding replaced where damaged, sash windows repaired and painted. Felt roof covering to porch replaced with leadwork and uneven render repaired using vapour permeable specialist paint.
