The Brief
Extend an existing house in the World Heritage City of Bath to add another en-suite Bedroom and general improvements to the house.
The Solution
Following the same pitch as the existing roof, the extension will be however minor to the current side gable, by slightly lowering the ridge height. Large glazing with a small terrace/balcony to the front opening over the neighbouring fields in the Cotswolds AONB.
The external walls will be finished in timber claddingand white render, working together yet in an elegant contrast to the existing buff Bath Stone cladding. The pitched roof will be dark grey zinc, treated typically for the Cotswolds, with no barge boards or fascias.
